SCHOOL PRGRAM
In April of 2008, Scotiabank, Canada’s most international bank, and Cricket Canada, the governing body of Cricket in Canada, announced a three year sponsorship agreement that makes Scotiabank the Premier National Sponsor and Official Bank of Cricket in Canada.

A key component of this agreement is the introduction of the Cricket Canada Scotiabank School Program, which we hope will be of interest to you and your students.

The popularity of cricket in the United Kingdom, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangla Desh, Guyana and the West Indies has carried over into several of Canada’s multicultural communities. The goal of the Cricket Canada Scotiabank School Program is geared to reach out to introduce Cricket in elementary schools to help create a new generation of players and fans.
The Program includes introductory Coach training, literature and equipment:
Scotiabank has a longstanding involvement with cricket including the sponsorship of the ICC Cricket World Cup West Indies 2007. In 2008, Scotiabank celebrated its tenth year as the Official Bank of West Indies Cricket. In a joint effort with the West Indies Cricket Board in 2000, Scotiabank launched Scotiabank Kiddy Cricket to help primary school children gain and maintain an appreciation for cricket, a game that is a significant part of local heritage, while building important interpersonal skills that will last a lifetime. Since the beginning of the program, Scotiabank has provided training and material to over 220,000 children.
Cricket Canada and Scotiabank look forward to working with you and your physical education instructors to continue growing the game of cricket in Canada, a game with roots in our country that can be traced back to the late 1700’s.
